NEWFOUNDLANDS

KNOW THE JOY OF BEING OWNED BY A NEWF!

From Peter Pan's "Nana" providing gentle, ever present care of her charge to the historic rescue of Napoleon from the icy coastal water, the Newfoundland captures the definition of "Man's Best Friend!"

His countless stories of loyalty and courage steal the headlines of history:

What began in 1803 as an assignment from Thomas Jefferson to find a trade route from the east to the Pacific Ocean, the historical Lewis & Clark Expedition became an odyssey of adventure that no one could have imagined.

From the historical original journals they write...

"In preparation for the journey, Lewis interviewed scientific experts of the day to gain knowledge of the astronomical navigation, geography, field medicine, botany and other natural sciences. He and Clark set out from the lower Missouri with approximately 45 qualified enlisted man and hired civilians. Lewis' dog, Seaman, "a dog of the Newfoundland breed," made the entire trek as well."

Known for a kind and loving disposition, the Newfoundland has long been regarded as an excellent choice in companions for children. By their very nature, they nurture and protect those they love.

It has been said that although a Newf may be bought and paid for by his owner, in truth it is the Newfie that owns his master! His care is constant, unconditional, loyal, abundant, responsive and fearless.
